Thailand trip will be in 52 days. The team of 20 will be gone for 14 days. We will be split up in 3 groups; orphanage, building/construction and administrative. I will teach english to the Thai orphans. The goal is to play and laugh with the 150 orphan children. I have gotten all but the last part of my Hep A and Hep B immunization shots. The typhoid shot smarted for a couple of days. Culture Shock workshop was last night. They say the women grab the buttox firmly and shake it if they really like you. It is a fond greeting. Our personal space will be challenged as well as our stomachs!!!! They can cook anything that crawls along the ground. As Americans we can not refuse any hospitality as it would be a grave offense. Touching the children upon their heads is an insult. Showing the bottom of your shoes is rude.
Sawati krap is Hello to a male and Sawati kah is Hello to a female....let's hope we do not mix these up! : )
